House Porter – Westminster Full Time

SNS Recruitment are looking for an experienced house porter for one our clients restaurants based in Westminster, London.

Our client owns and operates a private members club, that can accommodate over 50 guest.

The club strives to deliver an excellent and friendly service in a “home from home” environment .

As a house porter your role will require you to support the kitchen and the housekeeping department with cleaning duties, distributing linen, manual handling , to support with the cleanliness of the main kitchen including all crockery, cutlery and kitchen utensils.

You will also be required to abide by all internal policies and procedures, food hygiene and health and safety legislation relating to your position.

Main duties and responsibilities: 

• Cleaning the kitchen to the highest standard as required by the Club.
• To follow all relevant health and safety procedures and regulations.
• To ensure the kitchen, main wash up and staff room are clean, hygienic and tidy at all times.
• Assisting Kitchen Staff.
• Manual handling and unloading deliveries.
• Organising the storeroom.
• Collecting and washing pots, pans, plates and cutlery and getting them back into use quickly.
• Washing and disinfecting kitchen appliances, work surfaces, floors and walls.
• Making sure kitchen equipment is properly stored.
• Removing and recycling waste from the kitchen.

You must be aware and be able to comply on a daily basis with the following:-

• Food Hygiene Regulations.
• Health and Safety Regulations.
• In House Fire and Emergency procedures.
• Club guidelines, policies and procedures.
• To report any maintenance faults and cleanliness issues in the kitchen area to the Head Chef, Senior Sous Chef or Sous Chefs immediately.
• To ensure that you are dressed in the appropriate manner.
• To work as part of the team to maintain the highest standard at all times.
• To attend all legislative health, safety, fire and other training sessions as required.
• To work with the wider club team in order to ensure a smooth, running and successful food and beverage department.
• To carry out all reasonable tasks requested by the Head Chef, Senior Sous Chef or Sous Chefs in order to ensure the smooth running of the kitchen and /or The Farmers Club.

Salary and working hours: 

• Working hours: 37.5 hrs a week.
• Salary: £22k per year
